Spy films have always been, are, and will continue to be popular in Hollywood. There’s something uniquely compelling about the spy profession — a mix of romance, danger and adrenaline — that perfectly fits the structure of cinematic storytelling. Whether it’s the legendary tales of James Bond or the more grounded, MI6-based thrillers like “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”, audiences can’t seem to get enough.
Now, a new film, Black Bag, is hitting the big screen. It tells the story of a happily married couple whose lives are suddenly turned upside down by a shocking revelation: the protagonist’s wife is actually a traitor to her country. Faced with an impossible choice, he must decide — family or national duty?

That’s exactly what we’re about to find out.

The film is directed by the brilliant Steven Soderbergh, known for his work in the crime-comedy-action genre, including the Ocean’s Trilogy and many other acclaimed films.

With a budget of $50 million, “Black Bag” has already grossed $12 million, a figure that doesn’t rule out profitability, though the filmmakers will need to work hard to turn it into a major box office success.
The film boasts a stellar cast, featuring Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett and, of course, the legendary Pierce Brosnan.

So, head to the cinema, form your own opinion and while you’re at it, ask yourself: what would you do in the protagonist’s place?
