Sometimes it feels like the universe is the most unpredictable and original screenwriter out there. Life constantly throws us plot twists no one could’ve seen coming.
Take this for example: it was recently revealed that none other than David Fincher — a Hollywood legend and one of the most in-demand directors of our time — will be directing a Once Upon a Time in Hollywood spin-off for Netflix. And not just any spin-off, but a film focused on Brad Pitt’s character, Rick Dalton’s stunt double Cliff Booth.

Last year, Quentin Tarantino was rumored to be working on what was meant to be his 10th and supposedly final film, The Movie Critic. The story was reportedly set in the same universe as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with Pitt expected to reprise his role. However, the project was eventually canceled, and Tarantino decided to step away from it altogether.

Apparently, that canceled project laid the groundwork for what’s now becoming Fincher’s next film. Tarantino is still listed as the official screenwriter, and the film reportedly has a budget of around $200 million. No release date has been announced yet.
Anyway, what are your expectations, and how do you think the story of Cliff Booth can be developed?
