In today’s film era more and more directors are approaching studios with ideas that seem fresh and unconventional. Audiences crave something new, especially in a time when content is overflowing from every direction from TikTok to Netflix and of course television.
Recently the trailer for ”The End”, directed by Joshua Oppenheimer, best known for “The Act of Killing” and “The Look of Silence”, which won five awards at the 2014 Venice Film Festival, was released. The film follows a family that has been living in a bunker for over 20 years after an apocalyptic event wiped out humanity.

The father is consumed by guilt as he played a direct role in the catastrophe while the protagonist, a young man tries to uncover the truth about what happened and whether anything can be done to change it. With an incredible cast featuring George MacKay, Tilda Swinton and, of course, Michael Shannon the film promises to be an unforgettable fantasy musical, an astonishing blend of genres in itself.

The movie has already been released in some countries including the United States and is set to hit theaters in the UK soon. If you’re intrigued, we highly recommend watching the trailer and experiencing The End for yourself.
