Venice is the pearl of Italy, where tourists flock from all over the world regardless of the season. Here you can listen to absolutely any language. Having noticed a group of tourists with a guide, you will immediately determine what country this group of people come from. Due to the huge number of people in Venice, guides usually hold a brightly coloured umbrella over their head, so that their tourists do not wander off or join any other group. Countless articles and books have been written about Venice, and you can find any information on the Internet. I also give my recommendations.
If you are in Venice for the first time, be sure to order a sightseeing guided tour, this way you will save both time and money, and become well-versed in the history of creation of this city, plunging into its secrets. It is even possible that the guide will show you some not touristic places, but local pearls.
The Doge’s Palace is a must-see! Thus, if you are lucky and your tour guide gets tickets in advance, you won’t have to queue to get in.
It is absolutely necessary to capture yourself in St. Mark’s Square. Tourists usually want to do that surrounded by numerous pigeons that fly to the square. It is elementary if you are ready to get up early and come to St. Mark’s Square before numerous tourists fill it.
You should drink a delicious cappuccino and eat tiramisu in one of many cafes in Venice.
A gondola ride is, of course, a tradition, it is exclusive, it is the highlight of Venice. And, in spite of the fact it is not cheap, it is worth it! You will see Venice from the water, moving on a gondola along its numerous canals.
In Venice, you can stay in one of the prestigious elite hotels, where the entrance is possible only from a boat.
If your budget is a little lower, you can rent a small apartment, which will also have its own Venetian charm. What kind of charm is that? Of course, the building will be very, very old, so you need to understand it and get used to it. Most likely, the windows will give onto the windows of another building, but you also need to be ready for it and react absolutely calmly. The main thing while choosing accommodation is to have new plumbing and water in the shower, because after a long walk around the city you will definitely need to have a shower.
I would recommend booking a photo shoot with a local photographer. Because, as a rule, if you take photos yourself or take selfies, there will always be other people in your photos due to the large number of tourists around. So choosing a great photographer who knows where and when it is best to take photos will leave you with an unforgettable memory.
And, of course, visit souvenir shops where you can buy Venetian masks or fans, as well as other souvenir products. I recommend not saving money on these things, because Venetian souvenirs are a memory that will last forever.
And if you are planning to go to Venice on a romantic trip, I recommend you planning everything in advance, because many restaurants, hotels, guides and even photographers may be busy.
Venice is an incredibly beautiful city where you want to return again and again. And if you are not for the first time in Venice, my recommendations will be different…
Don’t hurry up, don’t rush, as you did when you came first times, but just wake up in the morning, go to a local bar and have a cup of coffee with brioche. Then take a comfortable walk along the streets of Venice, where you have not been before or where numerous tourist groups do not go. Go to a local shop. No, not a souvenir shop, but a local clothing or accessories shop, and there you will definitely find something wonderful and special, those very pearls that are not visible at first. Have lunch at your favourite restaurant, if you already have one, or google a restaurant where you have not been yet, but which is not in the very centre of Venice.
Walk through the art galleries of Venice, checking where they are situated beforehand. There is never time for that if you are coming for the first or second time, but if you have already been to Venice, visiting the art galleries is a must. Book a table for dinner in the place where you would like to have it. Personally, I prefer restaurants with a view of the Grand Canal.
And the last piece of advice – make sure to take a photo at sunset, because this is the most beautiful time: when the sun goes down, the lanterns are lit in the city, and their glow illuminates the ancient buildings of this enchanting place.
Enjoy Venice, because it is a paradise for those in love with each other, as well as for those in love with the life!
